Autumn

Autumn in our garden, digging out the compost heap with the help of the children and the chickens. Getting ready for fruit bush and tree planting later in the year and general tidying. I am so impressed with my compost, this being the first time I have done it, it was lovely. It must be the chicken's habit of sitting in the top of the bin looking for insects that has done it!
Compost makes me smile!
As does small children and chickens working together! I'm planning on putting raspberries in this patch.
To explain this photograph, the chickens like standing on top of their run so they can get onto the window ledge to see what is going on in the house (lovely funny birds they are!) which means that the rain cover gets very pooey. Fliss *loves* hosing off the rain cover while we clean out the coop.

After a tiring morning of gardening (well, tiring for this pregnant-with-sciatica Mama) we headed round to Chris' parents house. I love them really, nowhere else would I get chance to spend three hours sat crocheting on a comfy chair in the garden while being fed iced apple juice! Leni rode her bike round, we're lucky that she can as our houses are connected along the old railway which makes it a lovely walk.
