Nesting

One big job ticked off in the 'book of baby lists' last weekend. Our third bedroom was painted in an odd sort of mushroom colour and we had been using it as a dumping ground. Combine this with Chris and I both feeling overwhelmed with all of the toy storage being in the living room (Leni's room, where she now sleeps most of the time is too small for much storage) and we decided to turn it into a playroom.

It is painted in Earthborn paints Seagull, which is a very light bluey-grey. The only new acquisition is the town play rug (which you can just see a corner of!), the big low cupboards which store crafting materials and games were passed on through Chris' parents from a closing down
nursery.

The only thing left to do is to get a washing line up for the girls to display their art on! I AM tempted to make floor cushions at some point in the future though.

Putting the Poang chair (which was bought as a nursing chair when I was pregnant with Leni) in there makes it a great space for me to sit and knit in at the moment, and will be a lovely place to nurse Miranda when she is born.

Having this space has made so much difference to everyday life here. Chris and I find it very easy to keep it tidy as there is so much storage space (you can't see it, but it has a closet where most of the ride on/pram type toys are living) which in turn makes the rest of the house easier to keep on top of as we aren't drowning in toys. We also now he space in the living room for the dining table, which makes more space in the kitchen for clothes drying.
