A typical Home Ed day in pictures

Here is our submission to Merry's carnival here

We are a Radical Unschooling family, Leni only gets dressed if we're leaving the house.

7.30am Fliss wakes up, I read to her and she watches videos on the Ipod.

8.00am Leni wakes up, they share a long bubble bath. While in the bath Leni and I act out
'Fantastic MrFox' by Roald Dahl.

8.30am We grab a pile of books and head downstairs to read.

9.30am I make breakfast (porridge and green smoothies). The girls watch Mister Maker and
Charlie and Lola. Fliss draws instead of eating.

10.00am General playing. I knit and feel sick (I'm 9 weeks pregnant).

10.00am We do bubble pictures. The idea came from Mister Maker.
11.00am The girls have a snack (pears and muesli) and watch Wibbly Pig. I make lunch. Fliss plays with dolls.

11.15am I drink a pint of camomile tea!

11.30am Leni plays the violin, I play my violin and Fliss plays the keyboard.

12.00noon They watch TV and play.

12.30pm We eat lunch, tomato and rice soup.

1.00pm We put a DVD on.

1.30pm We play ball. Leni flits in and out of Cbeebies games too.

2.15pm TV. Leni watches 'Alphablocks', Fliss watches 'Charlie and Lola'

2.45pm We draw on giant paper and do body outlines of both girls.
3.30pm Fliss naps, Leni pops bubble wrap and watches Fifi.
5.45pm Fliss wakes up, has a cuddle and a read. Leni plays on poissonrouge.com

6.30pm They decide on more soup for dinner rather than pasta. Chris arrives home.

7.00pm They watch Charlie and Lola and play ball and horses with Chris.

It is now 8.00pm and they're playing horses still, while Chris does the dishes. They will probably ask to go to bed in the next half hour, then read for an hour, then sleep.

Aaaah, the days of naked children are sadly over here, but I remember them well. Josie's nakedness once managed to become the subject of an emergency Royal Mail Union meeting!
